Quite a party of commoners and sheep owners went up to London as witnesses last week in connection with the Chancery action brought by the Conservators agains certain quarry owners. The sights of the Metropolis proved an attraction to them for a day or so, but on Saturday evening, one of them informed me that he was glad to return again to Malvern, home and beauty.

A colourful procession of Knights Templars (who include the Knights of Malta) will be seen in Malvern on Sunday afternoon, May 10, when a service will be held for them in the Priory Church at 3pm. Some 260 knights in their full regalia will process through the churchyard from the robing rooms at the Lyttelton Hall.

Malvern Cinema has declared a 'no smoking' zone following a number of requests from audience non-smokers. One side of the upstairs circle is affected,involving 81 seats - about one-fifth of the cinema's capacity. It is the first time in over 60 years of the cinema's history that smoking has been restricted.
