PUPILS from Hanley Castle High School will have the chance to see their teachers in a different light this weekend when about 20 staff take to the field for a fundraising match at Upton Rugby Club.
The teachers will be taking on an Upton RFC Veterans XV for the Crest Insurance Cup on Sunday (April 26). This is the third year the match has taken place, with both sides having won one of the previous encounters.
The match raises money for various cancer-related causes, and organisers will be hoping to match the success of last year’s match, which raised an impressive £3,300.
The action starts at 2pm, when female staff will take on Hanley Sixth Form girls in a game of tag rugby that promises to add some glamour to the occasion.
The men’s game kicks off at 3pm and there will be a host of attractions throughout the afternoon, including a cheerleading display, refreshments, a licensed bar and raffle. Everyone is welcome to attend.
