AN exciting quarter-final county cup clash was witnessed by all at Badsey where the underdogs Welland nearly pulled of a shock win until the dying minutes of the game.
Badsey went ahead with a great goal, which was equal to the great strike scored minutes later by Alex Fairweather for Welland.
The score at half-time was 1-1 and remained so until the final few minutes of the second-half, due to some excellent defending by Myles Powell, and some great attacks at the other end by Luke Wellham keeping the game stretched to both ends.
Welland made some great attacks on the Badsey goal only to go wide at the finish, while at the other end Badsey were kept out by some excellent keeping by Ryan Williams, but were later awarded a penalty through over zealous play in the area.
Badsey scored the penalty and then two more followed in quick succession to seal the game.
