A NERVY start saw the Rovers take a while to settle in, but Jacob Gillibrand soon calmed the visitors' nerves with a beautiful strike early on, following a sublime pass from James Henry, to notch what would prove to be the deciding goal of this encounter.
Towards the end of the first-half, the visitors seemed to go off the boil, but hung on to their lead going into the break.
Matty Griffin came on in the second-half and nearly scored twice from successive corner kicks but the vital final touch was lacking in the six-yard box.
With his first touch of the ball, Luke Painter ran from one end of the pitch to the other, and was eventually denied by a Welland full-back who made a saving tackle.
