Worcester City Wanderers v Kidderminster Lion Girls (U13 Girls) Team = Georgia Brooker, Emily Burton, Emma Evans, Clare Hampton, Abi Laker, Georgia Leonard, Laura Mitchell, Clarissa Smith, Emily Sale, Shahena Sultana, Jordan Blake, Lauren Williams, Megan Turberfield.
With the start of a new season, bigger pitch, 9v9 and offside rules applying, both teams played well.
The first half kicked-off and most of the play came from the Wanderers, a free-kick from Emily Burton found Lauren Williams, who opened up the scoring putting Wanderers in the lead at half-time 1-0.
The second half changed with Kidderminster Lions having most of the possession throughout and they came back 1-1, but Wanderers' Lauren Williams straight away scored again 2-1.Kidderminster dug deep and had many attempts at goal, only to be stopped by Wanderers keeper Clare Hampton, until a fumble by the goal enabled the ball to roll in for 2-2.
Only five minutes left and substituted Megan Turberfield came back onto the field and within minutes lobbed the ball over a player, the keeper and into the top corner of the goal - Whistle blew 3-2 to the Wanderers.
Well done Wanderers and Kidderminster Lions for an excellent display of football.
