PET lovers in and around Malvern are being called on to help rehome more than 100 cats.
The local branch of Cats Protection has been inundated with cats and kittens over the summer, with 113 animals currently in the charity's care, including 20 families of kittens.
And with more cats being brought in on a daily basis, volunteers at the branch are anxious to hear from potential owners.
Lynn Glaze, branch co-ordinator, said: "We have this problem every year but the situation is so bad at present that one of our foster parents is having to care for seven different litters of kittens.
"The majority of the kittens are black or black and white but there are also a couple of tabbies and long-haired ones.
"We have some stunning young cats at the moment including a beautiful grey female."
Aside from the kittens, there are many other affectionate cats in need of good homes to go to.
One of these is DJ, who was found as a stray and is about three years old and neutered.
Mrs Glaze said: "DJ really needs a rural home to go to with no young children.
"He is getting very frustrated in the pen at his foster home and needs the freedom people living in the countryside could give him.
"Once he is out and about in his new home I'm sure he will settle down and show how affectionate he is."
If you can offer DJ the rural lifestyle he needs, or if you can provide a loving home for one of the many cats or kittens in the branch's care, please phone 01905 820348.
Many of the animals can be seen on the branch's website at www.worcestercats.org.uk.
