CHRISTIAN Rudge was crowned Barnards Green Angling Club’s Saturday Series champion in a tight finish to the exciting event.
Rudge beat off competition from four other anglers, winning by just 10oz in the final weigh-in with a total of 39lb 14oz over second placed Paul Harris with 39lb 4oz.
Garry Rowberry finished in third place with a total weight of 25lb 4oz.
Earlier in the fifth round of last Saturday’s action, Rudge could only muster 9lb 12oz from peg nine and he had to watch his nearest challenger Paul Harris on peg 14 putting together a good net of carp. At the weigh-in Paul Harris recorded 15lb 3oz to win the final round, second was Adie Matthews with his best weight to date of 11lb 6oz from peg six, Christian Rudge finished third with 9lb 12oz.
