A WOMAN has been handed a suspended sentence for shoplifting in Malvern.
Jodie Green, of Elgar Avenue, Malvern, has been found guilty of five separate shoplifting offences committed between March and April 2024.
Green pleaded guilty to stealing more than £100 in groceries from Tesco and Sainsburys yesterday (December 3) at Kidderminster Magistrates Court.
She has been ordered to pay £37 compensation and was given a 6-week custodial sentence which has been suspended for 12 months.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "Jodie Green was yesterday (December 3) found guilty of a number of shoplifting offences in the Malvern area.
"Jodie pleaded guilty at Kidderminster Magistrates Court to 5 separate thefts committed between March and April of this year.
"She was given a 6 week custodial sentence (suspended for 12 months).
"Ordered to pay £37 compensation and given up to 40 hours Rehabilitation Activity Requirement."
Green was found guilty of stealing from the following stores:
- Tesco Express, Madresfield Road, March 12 2024, unknown value of groceries stolen.
- Sainsburys Store, Malvern Vale, Malvern, April 7 2024, stole groceries worth £25.95
- Sainsburys Store, Malvern Vale, Malvern, April 8 2024, stole groceries worth £27.75
- Tesco Express, Madresfield Rd, April 10 2024, stole groceries worth £55.08
- Tesco Express, Madresfield Rd, April 13 2024, stole groceries worth £25
