MALVERN'S town crier will be spreading Christmas cheer and encouraging people to shop locally this festive season.
Mike Fray, Malvern’s town crier, is working alongside Malvern Hills District Council to encourage people to support their town centre traders and take on the challenge of buying all their Christmas shopping locally.
Shoppers can plan their Christmas spending by visiting the ‘Visit the Malvern's’ website, which lists shops across the district including the many independent shops across the town centres.
Mr Fray will make public announcements at events across the district in Great Malvern, Barnards Green, Malvern Link, Tenbury Wells, and Upton upon Severn.
He will be at the Tenbury Mistletoe Festival between midday and 3pm on Saturday, December 7 before gracing Upton Christmas Market at the same times the following day.
He will then bring Christmas spirit to sport as he attends Tenbury Football Club between 3pm and 4.30pm on Thursday, December 12.

And the town crier will finish his festive tour on Saturday, December 14, when he will be at Malvern Town Football Club from 2.30pm to 4pm.
Cllr Julie Wood, portfolio holder for Economic Development and Tourism at Malvern Hills District Council said: “We are so excited to see that the Town Crier will be making proclamations over the festive period.
"There is lots on offer, including handmade arts, crafts, antiques, curios, homewares and furniture, clothes, accessories and haberdashery, garden centres, nurseries and florists, cards and jewellery, books and vinyl, food and drink, and of course, toys.
"It is a great opportunity to find that perfect Christmas gift and to explore our wonderful town centre shops”.
