A talk is set to explore the hidden history of Victorian boarding houses in Malvern.
The session, titled 'The Boarding Houses of Victorian Malvern', will be led by Faith Renger and take place at the Malvern Museum, in Christchurch Hall, Avenue Road, on Thursday, November 28 at 2.30pm.
Victorian boarding houses in Malvern reportedly had unseen 'guests' who could quickly ruin reputations and livelihoods.
Miss Renger's talk will delve into this lesser-known aspect of the town's history.
Malvern, which became a holiday destination for both the wealthy and the not-so-wealthy in 1851, had a different kind of boarding house compared to the more familiar seaside guesthouses of the 1950s.
The talk is free for Friends of Malvern Museum and £3 for other visitors.
Refreshments will also be available for £1.
