ONE of the longest-serving strays at a rescue has made it her birthday wish to finally find a loving family.
Sylvia has recently celebrated her fifth birthday at Worcestershire Animal Rescue after never being able to celebrate with a family or a home to go to.
The former racing dog arrived at the centre straight after finishing her career and had struggled to find a home since.
She is the centre's longest-serving stray and is described as a beautiful, gentle soul everyone adores at the adoption centre.
Amie Jones, shelter operations manager, said: "We really hope this is her last Birthday ever spent in kennels.
"This girl deserves so much more.
"She is an affectionate, loving girl who adores her friends and wants nothing more than to snooze on her big memory foam bed with a tasty treat.
"She is always up for a potter and will be a loyal companion."
She added that Sylvia can be shy initially and will need her new family to understand that it will take time until she truly blossoms into herself.
Sylvia is a greyhound who will need an adult-only home but could live with another dog.
Ms Jones added: "She will be so rewarding and will certainly be a great addition to a home that enjoys the quiet life and cosy spots.
"Sylvia has spent her birthday relaxing with her favourite carer, enjoying a pig's ear and zoomies around the coppice, followed by a pamper and cuddle in bed
"If you would like to read more about this lovely girl and the type of home she is seeking, check her rehoming profile, and help make her birthday wish come true."
