Worcestershire residents are being encouraged to 'Buy Nothing New' this November.
The month-long campaign by Worcestershire County Council, as part of Keep Britain Tidy's initiative, aims to curb consumerism.
It urges people to rethink their spending habits and focus on reusing, repurposing, and recycling.
This is particularly targeted at the impulse buying season around 'Black Friday'.
The only exceptions outlined are essential items like food and medicine.
Councillor Emma Stokes, cabinet member for the environment at the council, said: "If everyone on Earth lived like people in the UK, we would need over two and a half planets to regenerate and absorb our waste.
"Transitioning to a circular economy is essential, where we waste less and cherish the items we already possess."
Last year, the campaign saw 73 per cent of participants avoiding new purchases, and 75 per cent finding creative ways to reuse or repurpose items.
