A MALVERN man has been jailed for almost three years after a robbery at a town Co-op.
Shane Standen, 38, of Elgar Avenue in Malvern was sentenced to two years and eight months at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, October 25.
Standen’s 32-month jail time comes after a robbery at the Co-op on Upper Hoswell Road in Malvern on 8 September 2022.

Police Constable George Bradbury, of South Worcestershire’s Neighbourhood Crime Fighting Team, said: “Standen’s actions not only cause financial damage to businesses and their owners, but also emotional distress to those present.
“On September 8, 2022, he threatened staff members with violence and used severe force in an attempt to take high-value items.
"Those people showed great courage in the face of unprecedented danger.
“Standen is a violent prolific shoplifter whose sentence is welcomed within our community.”
