A FRUSTRATED mum has claimed her family had to once again flee home after her two-year-old discovered a rat- despite being told the issue was sorted.
Chantelle Smith, who lives on Elgar Avenue, said she now wants to be moved by Platform Housing after being left effectively homeless twice by rats being in her home since August.
But Platform has now said it was working to ensure her family can return home as soon as possible.
She said earlier this month that Platform Housing told her the initial rat issue had been resolved and her family were told they could move back in on October 15.

Miss Smith added she had spent the remainder of the week cleaning and redecorating her home ready to move back in on Monday (October 21).
However, she claimed while she was cleaning on the day she was due to move back in, she heard her two-year-old daughter screaming in the living room, and when Miss Smith went into the room, she saw a rat running about.
She added that, after discovering fresh rat droppings in the living room, on her sofa and on the kitchen cupboards, she decided to once again stay on her mum's floor.
Miss Smith said she has since moved into a hotel in Malvern, which Platform is paying for.
She told the Gazette: "My children are out of routine, especially my young son, who is autistic and is really struggling.
"When I told my kids they weren't coming home they began crying.
"I have been wasting my money as I'm paying rent and not living there and I have also wasted money redecorating rooms I now can't live in.
"I want to be rehomed, I don't want to live there anymore.
"When my daughter saw the rat she was hysterical, she just sat there with her princess book in her hand screaming, she didn't know what to do.
"It's making me look like a bad parent not having somewhere for my kids to live."
Lisa Fairlie, Director of Housing Operations at Platform Housing Group said: “We are sorry to hear of our customer’s ongoing concerns.
"We are working directly with Miss Smith to ensure that she and her family can return to their home as soon as possible.”
