She was applauded for her quick thinking during a life-threatening situation involving one of her clients.

During a routine visit, she spotted early signs of a stroke in her client.

She immediately contacted emergency services and, due to her detailed information, the ambulance team prioritised the call, allowing prompt treatment that was vital to the client's recovery.

Stuart Callister, founder of the home care company, said: "Lucy's quick action and professionalism made a real difference in a life-threatening situation.

"We are incredibly proud of her, and this award is a well-deserved recognition of the dedication Lucy and all of our care professionals show each and every day."

The awards are an annual event recognising outstanding individuals and care companies for their contributions to caregiving.

Severn Vale Home Care, where Ms Gooderham works, provides a range of services to meet the specific needs of their clients.
