TWO volunteer DJs are set to launch a community radio station in Worcestershire.
WRXY Radio was first created during the Covid-19 pandemic by Max Crane.
However, realising he should get some experience working for another station, he joined Alta Sound Radio.
After spending some time working for Alta Sound Radio, Mr Crane and fellow ASR DJ Paul Smith decided to go solo and start their own station using the name WRXY.
Mr Crane said: "We aim to promote all the good things in our faithful city and county, local businesses, local charities, local community projects and local people.
"We want to bring our community together to help each other for a better Worcestershire.
"To raise awareness of our issues and to help as many community projects as possible, whatever they may be, to be better."
WRXY are working to support Worcester Foodbank during the festive season, and will be supporting the work done by Worcester Headway, a charity helping people who have been impacted by brain injuries.
Mr Crane added: "The hope is that we can somehow help these two fine institutions to exceed their aims."
WRXY will be launching in Worcestershire on Saturday, November 2, at 10am.
