A MALVERN woman has been given a suspended prison sentence after she repeatedly drove into a car and house.

Joanne Lyndsey Greenhill, 39, was handed the suspended sentence as well as a driving disqualification after an incident which closed Swinyard Road, Malvern, in February.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Greenhill, of Strothers Avenue, Malvern, appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday (October 16) charged with two counts of criminal damage and one count of dangerous driving.

"On the morning of Thursday, February 29, Greenhill drove her car multiple times into another car and the front of a house.

"No one was injured during the incident, but the road was closed whilst emergency services made the property safe."

Greenhill was handed a nine month prison sentence, suspended for one year, for the first count of criminal damage, a two months prison sentence, suspended for one year, for the second count of criminal damage and a nine month prison sentence, suspended for one year, for dangerous driving.

All three of these sentences will be served concurrently.

She has also been ordered to pay £1,909 in compensation to the victim, a £187 victim surcharge, and has been disqualified from driving for one year.

West Mercia PC Steras said: "As well as the deliberate damage to a house and a car, with significant financial implications, this incident cause disruption and concern in the community at the time.

"This is a positive result in court, with Greenhill having the opportunity to rehabilitate and pay compensation to the victim, as well as being removed from the roads."
