A Worcestershire pub has been named among the best places to enjoy food at lunch time this autumn in a list of 40 establishments, created by Sawday’s.
Sharing the list, iNews said: “The season of hearty comfort food is upon us and where better to tuck in than a cosy country pub? The experts at Sawday’s have selected 40 venues to tempt your taste buds”.
The Manor in Abberley, described as “quiet and pretty” features on the list.
Why is The Manor among the UK’s best lunch spots this autumn?
iNews shared: “This smart and friendly pub dates from the 17th century and is set in the heart of a quiet and pretty village.
“It’s very much a foodie destination; chef Alex Boghian has helped several places gain a place in the Michelin guide and serves well-presented, creative pub food.
“Pootle along some lovely footpaths from the door or stride the Malvern Hills with dramatic views from the top. Head to Worcester for a tour of the marvellous cathedral, return to a local ale.”
Sawday’s said: “The cosy front room has a wood-burner and there’s a larger eating area to the rear, with plenty of drinking and eating space on the terrace and lawn too.
“The nine comfortable rooms (eight with king-size beds) are on the first floor and have original oak beams and views of rolling hills and woodland. Breakfast is included – choose between full English or a vegan feast, eggs royale, avocado on toast or granola bowls.”
It added: “Head to Worcester for a tour of the marvellous cathedral, return to a local ale and a peek at the menu – the Apple Wood-Smoked Cheddar Souffle is sublime, as are pub classics or anything from the grill.”
