An amateur theatre company will perform an iconic play in Worcester and Malvern.

The Swan Theatre Amateur Company (STAC) is set to perform Caryl Churchill’s 'Top Girls' at the Swan Theatre Studio from Wednesday 23 to Saturday, October 26 at 7.45pm, and then at The Coach House Theatre on Thursday, October 31 and Friday, November 1 at 7.30pm, before concluding with a matinee on Saturday, November 2 at 2pm.

Written in the early 1980s, 'Top Girls' is a comedy-drama that examines the rise of the career woman and the impact of feminism on various roles women play.

The play follows Marlene, a career-driven woman who becomes the managing director of an employment agency, exploring her family background and work colleagues to highlight the sacrifices made in the pursuit of success.

Since its premiere in 1982, the play has been studied as an A-level English text and was listed by The Times in 2018 as one of "the greatest plays of all time".
