Harvington Hall
Visit Worcestershire puts the “beautiful” Harvington Hall in Kidderminster at the top of its list of hidden gems.
It said: “Harvington Hall is a beautiful, moated manor house with the country's largest surviving series of priest hides. The house also boasts a rare collection of original Elizabethan wall paintings.
"The house was originally built 1300’s bringing to life the fascinating history of the survival of roman catholic families.”
If you visit, you can enjoy the onsite tea room and visitor centre.
Harvington Hall has been well-praised on Tripadvisor with a 4.5 rating from 521 reviews.
One visitor said: “Was recommended to this place by friends, so glad we went what a lovely find. We did the guided tour with James who certainly knew his stuff the tour was 1/2 hour and was very informative, we really enjoyed the morning nice tea room and gardens.”
The Fleece Inn
If you’re looking for some pub grub, Visit Worcestershire recommends The Fleece Inn in Bretforton, Evesham.
It said: “A historic pub with roaring log fires, real ales and delicious pub classics. The Fleece Inn is a pub steeped in history, originally built in the early 15th century by a farmer named Byrd, the pub remained in the ownership of the same family until 1977.
“The pub pays homage to the locally grown vegetable Asparagus during May and June.”
One guest at the pub took to Google Reviews to share their experience: “Full of history and it's just how you imagine a traditional and historic pub would look like - The staff (even those not on duty) were brilliant, all really helpful and made us and our hound Bella very welcome. The food was superb (try the homemade pies) plenty on the plate and presented really well.
“You can see why this Pub has won so many awards and gets great reviews. It was also nice to see it is a hub for the local community and not just catering for us visitors (or Grockles as we are called in Devon) - Plus a really nice selection of local Ales & Ciders -Well done all- we hope to see you again soon”.
Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings
If you’d like to learn a thing or two and delve into some local history, the Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings in Bromsgrove could be the ideal place for you.
Visit Worcestershire said: “An award-winning open-air museum with a collection of recused historic buildings. Spanning over 700 years of history! There are also tributes to the Midlands' industrial heritage, including a 100-year forge and a 19th-century chain-making shop. Friendly dogs on leads are welcome in the grounds at Avoncroft Museum!”
Deer Park Vineyard
Are you a wine lover? This could be the ideal day out for you.
Deer Park Vineyard in Eckington is “a family-run vineyard on the historic slopes of Bredon Hill, producing a selection of internationally award-winning still and sparkling wines.”
Visit Worcestershire explained that it’s “nestled on the slope of the iconic Bredon Hill, on the western tip of the Cotswolds. A must-visit for wine lovers!”
Deer Park Wines has earned a 5-star rating on Tripadvisor from 23 reviews with one visitor saying: “Deer Park Wines is set in a beautiful location at the foot of Bredon Hill with panoramic views. Our welcome was warm and friendly, and Hugo was an excellent informative and amusing host, entertaining our unusually large tour throughout.
“We opted for a tour and tasting experience. The food was delicious and wines superb. I couldn't recommend the whole experience highly enough.”

Droitwich Spa Lido
Fancy a dip? Droitwich Spa Lido is “one of the UK’s last remaining inland, open-air, saltwater swimming pools,” Visit Worcestershire explains.
It added: “The Droitwich Spa Lido is Worcestershire's finest outdoor pool, open during the summer months it's the ideal day out for all the family. Guests can enjoy a wet play area, sun terraces and the Lido Café!”
