A Malvern care home is inviting community members to its monthly dementia café.

Elgar Court holds the event on the third Wednesday of each month.

Friends, relatives, carers, and loved ones are all welcome to enjoy refreshments and meet others who are caring for people living with dementia.

The café is free to attend and aims to provide respite, social support, and a warm space during the winter months.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the care home team and discuss any care-related questions they might have.

General manager Sarah Cadwallader said: "We’re really looking forward to making more friends in our local community.

"The condition itself can be quite lonely and frightening, and the more support we can provide to each other, the better.

"Our activities team here at Elgar Court have a number of activities to enjoy if guests wish to have a go at, or just to sit and chat if they prefer.

"If anyone is unable to make it on the day but would like to pop in for a tour and a cup of tea, our doors are always open."

The care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers.

It provides residential and dementia care for residents and those needing a short break.

The monthly dementia café is part of their efforts to delivering high-quality care across their homes and hospitals.

The next dementia café event is set for 10.30am to 12.30pm on Wednesday, October 16.
