An Evesham-based housing association has announced the completion of a new affordable-housing development in Powick.

Rooftop Housing Group has completed its latest project, Crown View, which comprises 18 new homes.

The development aims to address the need for affordable housing in rural areas.

The homes at Crown View are a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom properties.

Six of these are for social rent, and have already been occupied, while 12 are for shared ownership, with only five still available.

Rooftop has prioritised households with a rural connection to the area when allocating the homes.

Rebecca Pitt, executive director of investment at the housing association, said: "We are pleased to launch this new development in Powick, as we recognise the importance of providing good-quality, affordable, and sustainable homes in rural areas.

"These homes not only meet the immediate needs of the residents but also enhance the long-term vitality of rural communities."

The homes at the development have been built to the Rooftop Living Homes Standard, which aims to keep homes warm, energy-efficient, and future-proof.

Each property has a gas combi boiler for heating and hot water, alongside solar PV panels for sustainability and energy efficiency.

Additionally, each home comes with pre-installed EV charge points amid the growing demand for electric vehicles.
