A SNAKE and a cat were among those stuck in a fire in a Malvern flat.
The cat was given oxygen therapy after being rescued from the fire on Meadow Sweet Court on Monday morning (September 9), while the snake was also moved to safety.
Three Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – two from Malvern and one from Upton upon Severn Fire Stations – were called at 10:23am to a fire with people reported at the flat.
A small fire in a ground floor flat was extinguished by two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.
They tackled the blaze using one hosereel jet and a CO2 extinguisher.
Positive pressure ventilation was also used, as was a thermal imaging camera.
The cat was rescued and given oxygen therapy from a pet mask, while the snake was also moved to safety.
All people living in the flat were also accounted for.
There were no casualties and no other emergency services were required, and at 11.24am the incident was marked as pending closure.
