A FEEL-GOOD concert of exhilarating flamenco fusion music will be performed by two virtuoso guitarists on their first visit to Malvern.
Duo, mainly known in the south of England, will be entertaining at Studio One, Malvern Theatres, on Sunday, September 29 at 3pm and 6pm.
Their flying fingerwork and percussive style of play have been dazzling audiences in England, France and Spain since they met at the Royal Academy of Music in London in 2011.
Will Cashel from Bath and Ben Bruant will play their own compositions in the flamenco/Latin American vein and arrangements of well-known tunes from the last 40 years, covering Rolling Stones to Ed Sheeran via Gipsy Kings.
During the pandemic they put on 70 thank you gigs in the back gardens of NHS workers when a group of six people could mix outside.
At the end of every month they play for an hour online for their fans from Frenchman Bruant’s flat.
They have issued six CDs and just recorded a live version of their sixth one because it contained solely their own compositions.
The duo hope having a matinee in Malvern on a Sunday afternoon is a good way of bringing Spanish sunshine into the dying days of a British summer.
Because the audience at the two Malvern concerts will be sitting so close it will be almost like a masterclass for any intermediate/advanced level acoustic guitarists who aspire to increase their skill-set further.
