RECENTLY I went for an evening stroll in Victoria Park (Malvern) and sat down on a bench.
A group of teenage lads on bikes appeared near me and one of them sat down next to me.
He said ‘hello’ and I replied.
He then asked me if I was OK as, unbeknown to me, I was sitting on the ‘talking bench’ where people sit if they want someone to talk to.
I said I was fine but we all had a chat then they went on their way.
I have seen them since and I always get a wave and a ‘hi’.
This is such a lovely initiative — thank you to the youngsters who took the trouble to think about my welfare.
