ESSENTIAL baby and children’s first aid courses for parents, guardians and carers will be held over the next two months.

Malvern Hills National Childbirth Trust has partnered with Mini First Aid to offer the sessions which are designed to equip people with the critical skills needed to handle common childhood emergencies confidently and effectively.

Fiona Brittain, first aid co-ordinator for Malvern Hills NCT, said: “We believe that every parent and carer should have the knowledge and skills to manage emergencies involving children.

“By partnering with Mini First Aid, we are providing an accessible and practical way for our community to get this vital training.”

The courses will be held on Sunday, September 22 and Saturday, October 19 from 10am until 12 noon at The Downs Malvern School, Colwall.

Each session is affordably priced at £25 per person or £40 for two, providing a valuable opportunity for families to gain life-saving knowledge in a supportive and informative environment.

Led by Mini First Aid, a renowned provider of first-aid training for children and babies, the courses cover vital topics such as CPR, choking, burns, bleeding and other common childhood injuries.

Participants will leave with practical skills and the confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations.

In addition to the courses, Malvern Hills NCT offers a range of other services to support families as follows.

Mondays up the Malverns: A friendly walking group for babies and toddlers in carriers or slings, offering fresh air, exercise and also the chance to connect with other families.

Welly Tots: A fun outdoor walk at toddler-pace, encouraging exploration and play in a natural environment.

Baby Café — Infant Feeding Support: A welcoming space where parents can receive expert advice and support on all aspects of infant feeding.

Welly Library: A community resource offering a variety of children’s wellies to borrow for outdoor adventures.

Sling Library: Providing parents the opportunity to try out and borrow baby carriers and slings.
