Remi Harris, who hails from Bromyard and lives in the Worcestershire countryside, will perform at West Malvern Social Club.
He is joined by double bassist Tom Moore and rhythm guitarist Chris Nesbitt on Saturday, September 7 to make up Remi Harris and The Hot Club Trio with the doors opening at 7.30pm.
Promoters James H Soars Media Services promise “an enthralling evening of gypsy jazz and blues. Combining musical virtuosity with passion and flair, this dynamic trio deliver a mesmerising show inspired by Django Reinhardt, Peter Green, Wes Montgomery, Jimi Hendrix and Joe Pass.”
Singer-songwriter Jamie Cullum has described Harris as “an absolutely extraordinary musician”.
They performed together at BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.
British jazz guitarist Dr Martin Taylor MBE said of Harris: “Remi is a phenomenal player specialising in both gypsy jazz and blues guitar.
“He’s a true master of both genres.
“With a formidable technique and a genuine passion for the guitar, the ease and warmth of Remi’s stage presence, together with his virtuoso talent, will have concert goers captivated.”
Largely self-taught since the age of seven, Harris’ playing has taken him from busking on the streets to prestigious events and venues, including Buckingham Palace, Montreal Jazz Festival and the Royal Albert Hall as well as on radio and television.
Harris has performed for more than 10 years with Royal Birmingham Conservatoire graduate Moore who has also played at the Royal Albert Hall.
The busy Harris is touring with the trio format for the first time in six years as well as with his blues rock project Man of the World: The Music of Peter Green.
He has released his third book Gypsy Jazz Soloing Etudes and is working on a new album.
