THE summer holidays are starting to draw to a close but there is still time to book one last beach trip before the kids head back to school.
Living in landlocked Worcestershire can be challenging, as the county's residents do not have the luxury of a nearby beach to help them cool down.
However, readers have still managed to compile a list of must-go beaches—if you are willing to go the distance.
1. Porthcurno - Cornwall
The most recommended beach by readers was Porthcurno Beach, which is on the south coast of Cornwall.
It seems like a long way for Worcester residents to travel, but readers said it is well worth the visit if you happen to be on holiday in Cornwall.
One reader, Lisa Davis Purser, said: "Porthcurno Beach is truly stunning."
2. Rhossili Bay - Wales
This Welsh beach is probably the closest to the city our readers have recommended - though it is still nearly three hours away.
It has been praised for its dramatic, panoramic views and good walking opportunities.
3. Crantock - Cornwall
This beach is in the civil parish of Crantock in Cornwall, and it is approximately two miles southwest of Newquay.
Many readers agreed that it is a stunning beach.
Jeanie Garfield said: "It is an all-round beautiful place."
4. Woolacombe - Devon
Nestled in North Devon's coastline, Woolacombe has a sandy beach and many little nicknack shops.
The beach is approximately two miles long, making it a perfect easy walk for those on holiday.
5. St Ives - Cornwall
St Ives is a town in Cornwall known for surfable beaches and art scene.
It has previously been voted one of TripAdvisors for 10 European beaches, and it also comes with cobbled streets and independent shops.
