A PRIVATE school in Malvern has been given permission to cut back a number of trees on its grounds.
Malvern St James School asked Malvern Hills District Council if it could carry out works to lime trees, holly trees, a laurel, a douglas fir and a eucalyptus.
Some of the trees were overhanging public footpaths and parking areas, a report found some to be at risk of collapse and one was “leaning heavily towards young children’s play equipment”.
The council had no objection to the work taking place but said it must be done within two years of permission being granted.
