A will writing service has stunningly raised over £3 million for a hospital helipad charity.

Malvern's Wills and Legal Services, in a spectacular fundraising drive, raised the sum for the County Air Ambulance HELP Appeal.

The business raised the funds through their Wills Campaign, where wills are exchanged for donations to the charity.

The organisation is the only charity in the UK dedicated to financing hospital and air ambulance base helipads.

Over 28,000 landings have been recorded on 50 HELP Appeal funded hospital helipads across the country.

This easy accessibility to hospitals allows patients to receive immediate medical attention after landing, thus increasing their chances of survival.

Nevertheless, the funding gap for upgrading or building over 50 helipads remains, estimated to be £55 million.

The Malvern business reached the fundraising milestone after issuing 75,000 wills over almost 10 years of partnership.

The business' founder, Tony Watson, said: "We are overwhelmed by the extraordinary response to our fundraising campaign.

"This achievement is a testament to the generosity and compassion of our clients who have contributed to the HELP Appeal’s lifesaving work.

"Together we are making a significant difference to some of the most critically ill patients in our country and we are already working towards raising the next £1 million".

"Their ongoing support is having a transformative impact on our ability to save lives by building helipads beside emergency departments."

Sally Abbott, Head of Fundraising at the County Air Ambulance Trust HELP Appeal, said: "We are immensely grateful to Wills and Legal Services and its clients for this remarkable fundraising effort.

"Their ongoing support is having a transformative impact on our ability to save lives by building helipads beside emergency departments.

"We are undoubtedly helping to achieve a better outcome for air ambulance patients."

Since 2009, the appeal has provided over £40 million in funding, which has facilitated the construction of 30 new NHS hospital helipads and major upgrades of 20 more nationwide.

The will writing service's campaign continues all year-round, and offers professional services in return for a suggested £40 per person donation to the HELP Appeal.
