Agatha Christie Ltd and Fiery Angel are bringing the production to the stage.
Eager to step into his new role, Maloney said: "I am very excited and honoured to be joining a long line of extraordinary actors who have taken on the role of Hercule Poirot and hope I can be so, too.
"To work with such a talented director as Lucy Bailey and with top producers Fiery Angel is a gift and a privilege.
"Here's to Orient Express hurtling through your town or city soon."
The production will transport theatre-goers back to winter 1934, when the Orient Express is stopped dead in its tracks by an avalanche.
A wealthy American tycoon is found dead in his compartment, stabbed eight times, with the door locked from the inside.
Can Poirot, the world's most famous detective, solve the case before the train reaches its destination?
The murder mystery is revered as one of Christie’s greatest literary pieces, and is renowned shocking final twist.
Bailey, known for directing productions such as 'Witness for the Prosecution', 'And Then There Were None' and 'The Other Boleyn Girl', will direct the production.
The staging will feature design by Mike Britton, lighting by Oliver Fenwick, video design by Ian Galloway, sound design by Mic Pool, movement direction by Leah Hausman, casting by Abby Galvin and Victoria Gartner will act as assistant director.
The full cast is yet to be announced.
The Orient Express will be stopped off at Malvern Theatres from November 12 to 16.
