GREEN MPs need to hold the expected Labour government to account as they are not ‘brave enough’.
Those are the views of West Worcestershire’s Green candidate Natalie NcVey following the exit poll.
The poll, what has just been released, predicts Sir Keir Starmer will become Prime Minister in a Labour landslide.
Mr Starmer’s party is expected to win 410 seats, while Mrs McVey’s party has been predicted to pick up two seats- double the number they won in 2019.
But Mrs McVey expects the Greens to win more than the two seats predicted.
She told the Gazette: “We are building for the future as a party so extra seats will represent progress, although I think we can win more.
“We had four target campaigns in total so to win two will be good.
“We need the Greens in government, we need to hold the Labour Party to account as I don’t feel they have been bold or brave enough in their policies.”
She added the Conservatives predicted wipeout, dropping to just 131 seats, was to be ‘anticipated.’
