A MALVERN band believe in England so much ahead of Euro 2024 they have released a song backing Gareth Southgate's side to lift the trophy. 

Zen Kat has released Coming Home Again, an Indie spin on the 1996 Euros anthem 'Three Lions' which captured the hearts of the nation. 

In the 1996 edition of the championships, England reached the semi finals but the band's song is backing the Class of 2024 to go all the way and bring the trophy home. 

They kept it local in the music video with players from Malvern Town Football Club playing starring roles.

The song was the brainchild of band singer Lee Richardson after the idea was sparked during the 2022 Qatar World Cup. 

Ahead of this year's tournament, Mr Richardson penned the song in just 30 minutes. 

A massive football fan himself, Mr Richardson felt there needed to be another major football anthem for England fans to get behind. 

"I was a huge football fan as a child, and I still love it, especially international tournaments. 

"There hasn't been a big anthem for fans to sing for 30 years so we thought it was time that changed. 

"I played for Malvern Town briefly in 2002 and know the manager Lee Hooper very well. 

"He really got into it and several of the players got involved as well, it was a ton of fun."

Gareth Southgate's side kick-off their campaign on Sunday against Serbia, and a confident Mr Richardson predicted football was 'definitely coming home.'

He added, should that happen, he would love to hear 'Coming Home Again' being played during people's celebrations. 

"People in Malvern know what we are doing but it is very difficult for unsigned bands to get any kind of exposure. 

"The biggest thing we can ask for people to do is to share the song online to ensure it gets as much traction as possible."

Zen Kat is formed from a group of friends and has been going for just over a year, releasing four singles to date. 

Band members include Malvern's former Olympic mountain biker Liam Killeen.
