A new poll suggests Harriett Baldwin is set to keep hold of her West Worcestershire seat.

But Dame Harriett and two of her opponents say the only poll that matters is on July 4 and the race to be the area’s MP is still “all to play for”.

YouGov’s latest polling has the Tories winning the West Worcestershire seat with 41 percent of the vote, Labour in second on 22 percent and the Lib Dems in third with 19.

Reform has 10 percent of the vote according to YouGov and the Greens seven percent.

Dame Harriett, the Tory party candidate for West Worcestershire, said: “The only poll that matters is on July 4 and I have been out on the doorsteps talking to people about their priorities and making my case to continue being their representative in Westminster.

“I’m proud of my record delivering for local people and people tell me I have been a hard-working and effective local MP over 14 years.

“I see no appetite for Starmer and socialism on the streets of West Worcestershire and I think people want us to stick to the plan and deliver a strong, secure future for us all.”

Dan Boatright-Greene, the area’s Lib Dem candidate, said: “The only poll that matters is on July 4. We came 2nd in West Worcestershire in 2019 and we are working to win this time.

“Up and down the constituency people are supporting us because we have a positive plan for the NHS, want to stop sewage flowing into our rivers and we are on a mission to tackle the cost-of-living crisis.

“The response on the doorstep has been amazing. We are known for community campaigning and working with residents so they know that voting Lib Dem is the best chance to beat the Conservatives and get an MP focused on West Worcestershire, not the turmoil of the Conservative Party.”

Natalie McVey, the Green Party candidate, said: “With four weeks to go, it’s all to play for in West Worcestershire. Hundreds of people on the doorstep have told me how concerned they are with the state of the country after 14 years of Conservative mismanagement.

“Labour’s messaging is just not cutting through here, people are not inspired by Keir Starmer. I am standing to bring real hope and real change; to hold the next government to account and make sure we prioritise repairing our NHS, renewing our economy so that working families can survive through the month, and restoring our environment.

“In the West Worcestershire constituency the Conservatives and Lib Dems are losing councillors at every election, Labour have no councillors in West Worcestershire, whilst the Greens are gaining at every election. We have been in administration in the Malvern Hills for 5 years.

“People like voting Green because they know we offer principled, hard-working candidates, who live and work in the area and understand the needs of the people of West Worcestershire.”
