EXCITEMENT is in the air after the owners of a popular Worcester cafe revealed the opening date of its new branch.

It has been all hands on deck for the team at Papa's Caffe in Worcester after they spent the last four months renovating the former Costa Coffee store on Church Street in Malvern.

The bustling cafe has been a staple in Worcester's New Street for the past 12 years and owner Ali Cokaj is excited to finally open his business next week.

"It is looking exactly how I wanted it and is what I had in mind," he said.

"It is very exciting and I can't wait to open.

"We have already got our new staff trained, it's really exciting."

Papa's Caffe will open its Malvern store on June 10 along with a new menu.

Since revealing the opening, the cafe has been flooded with comments.

"We have received very good feedback, and I have been surprised by how many people know us already in Malvern - a lot more than I thought.

"I did not know many people from Malvern come to visit us in Worcester.

"We have had loads of people coming into our Worcester branch asking us about it."

He added that he cannot wait to see everyone in their new branch and provide the people of Malvern with the best food and drink they can.

"We are all buzzing," he added.

For the past three years, the team at Papa's Caffe have been looking for a new location to open a cafe in Malvern.

They decided to seize the opportunity when they noticed Costa was closing.

Mr Cokaj added: "We had been looking for quite a while, but there was never the right building.

"We saw Costa was going and jumped at the chance.

"It is a very nice area and will be really good."

Costa Coffee closed its Church Street branch on November 17 last year.
