The cast of a musical comedy showcasing Dolly Parton's biggest hits has been announced.

Simon Friend Entertainment and Leeds Playhouse's 'Here You Come Again' is set to visit Malvern Theatres on its first UK tour for a five-night run from Tuesday 16 to Saturday, July 20.

Tricia Paoluccio, who also co-wrote the musical, will resume her role as Dolly alongside Steven Webb, best known for his performances in 'Oliver!' and 'Book Of Mormon', as Kevin, an ageing comedian.

Aidan Cutler and Charlotte Elisabeth Yorke, both backing vocalists, join as understudies for the roles.

Jordan Li-Smith will serve at musical director, while the band comprises of Kevin Oliver Jones (bass), Alex Crawford (guitar), and Ben Scott (drums).

The musical was initially penned by multi-Emmy award-winning comedy and songwriter Bruce Vilanch, along with director Gabriel Barre and Paoluccio.

The UK version features additional content from British TV and theatre writer Jonathan Harvey (Gimme, Gimme, Gimme and Coronation Street).

The musical brings together, for the first time, all of Parton's chart-topping songs, including 'Jolene', '9 to 5', 'Islands in the Stream', and 'I Will Always Love You'.

The plot follows Kevin, a newly single fan and 'has-been-who-never-was' comedian who uses his imagined version of Parton to make it through challenging times.

Confined to his childhood attic bedroom in Yorkshire, Kevin leans on the comfort of his old record player and cherished Parton records, using the music to soothe his troubles, and remember the hard times her music helped him through in the past.

The story gives audiences an insight into life lessons learned from hardships faced and overcome, reminiscent of Parton's own tale.
