District planners have rejected a scheme to build a bungalow in the garden of a Worcestershire cottage.
The owners of Oakapple Cottage in Leigh, near Worcester, had originally wanted to put a two-storey house on the site.
Plans were then submitted for a bungalow with bedrooms in the roof space, facing onto Suckley Road, with two parking spaces, secure cycle spaces and solar panels on the roof.
But Malvern Hills District Council had concerns over the “restrictive size of the plot” that were “compounded by the applicant’s failure to demonstrate that the proposal would be able to provide off road parking spaces to accord with the required dimensions as per County Highway Standing Advice”.
