A YOUTH has been charged with two 'car key burglaries' following house break-ins during which two cars were stolen.
The 16-year-old suspect from Ronkswood in Worcester has been charged with two burglaries and an attempted burglary in March this year and the theft of the two cars.
As a youth, the suspect cannot be named for legal reasons.
During one burglary overnight on March 18 and 19, a home in Mortlake Drive in Martley was broken into and a Volkswagen Tiguan was stolen from the drive.
An attempt was made to access a neighbouring property in Martley but this failed.
The suspect has also been charged with a further burglary in Chelmsford Drive in Ronkswood, Worcester during which a Vauxhall Corsa was stolen.
Both vehicles have since been recovered by West Mercia Police. Car key burglaries refer to break-ins where people enter homes or businesses with the purpose of stealing car keys before taking the vehicle itself.
The suspect was bailed but was re-arrested on Tuesday and charged with two house burglaries, an attempted burglary and two thefts of motor vehicles.
A date for his first court appearance has yet to be confirmed.
