THE reason for a major power outage to a postcode area in Malvern has been revealed.
Homes in the WR14 postcode area in Malvern were subject to a power cut yesterday morning (Monday).
Residents were left without power from around 8.30am, with National Grid reporting the problem on their website.
Power was eventually restored at 10.30am and National Grid has now confirmed what caused the power cut in the first place.
It turns out an underground cable fault was the main cause for leaving properties short of power.
National Grid has apologised to residents for any inconvenience.
A spokesperson for National Grid said: "Power was restored to customers at 10.30am.
"The outage was caused by an underground cable fault.
"We apologise for the inconvenience experienced by customers during this incident."
