MALVERN residents will be able to quiz mayor Clive Hooper and other town councillors at a meeting this month.
The annual Malvern Town Meeting will see an open forum where those present can put questions to the mayor and the council.
Notice of questions would be appreciated and should be sent to the town clerk a week in advance of the meeting.
Everyone is welcome.
Linda Blake, the town clerk, said: “Attendance at the Annual Town Meeting has ranged from five to about 15 in recent years and questions can be quite varied.
“Last year there were quite a few questions raised about the Malvern sign which was due to be installed by the town council in Rose Bank Gardens. There were concerns raised about its suitability for the location, but since it was installed in May 2023 it has proved to be very popular.
“Other questions have been about topics such as taking ownership of areas owned by Malvern Hills District Council, litter bins, the closure of Malvern Hills College and the expansion of the theatre. Not all of these items are directly under the Town Council’s control but are obviously issues of local interest.”
Those interested should contact: townclerk@malvern-tc.org.uk
The meeting will be held at Poolbrook Village Hall, on Thursday, April 18 starting at 7pm.
