The National Trust wants to install a “discreet” rainwater system to protect an historic building at its Croome site.
The charity has applied for planning permission for two small ‘chutelets’ plus guttering to take water away from the north wall of the Temple Greenhouse.
The National Trust says the small lead extensions will sit on the roof of the building and be virtually unnoticeable from the ground.
A water tank would be used to collect rainwater from the rear roof slopes and to water the plants in the greenhouse.
