Worcester Magistrates Court: Drink drivers and theives appear at court

JIMMY JOHNSON, of Evesham Road, Cleeve Prior, near Evesham, denies possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place. 

The crown alleges the 20-year-old had a folding pocket knife in Broadway Road on August 8 last year. 

Johnson originally denied the offence in November. At the court on Thursday, February 8, Johnson's trial date was set. 

The defendant, who has unconditional bail, is to appear at his trial which was scheduled for April 18. 

JAMIE PINCHES, of Lower Priest Lane, Pershore, admitted stalking without fear/alarm/distress.

The 38-year-old committed the offence between August 14 last year and September 16 last year in Evesham. 

Magistrates heard he pursued a course of conduct which amounted to the stalking of the victim.

Pinches, who was given unconditional bail, appeared at the court on February 8. 

The defendant was told his case had been adjourned for a pre-sentence report. Pinches was told to appear at his sentence at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on March 11. 

DAVID ASHBERY, of Gresham Road, Worcester, admitted seven charges of theft from a shop when he appeared at the court on February 6. 

The 42-year-old stole from a Co-op in Worcester on August 9, October 19, December 21, 22, 28 and 30 last year stealing items including chocolate, laundry items and baby food.

He also stole various items from Peak Pharmacy, St John's Medical Centre on October 6 last year.

In total £698.60 worth of items were stolen. 

Ashbery was jailed for eight weeks, suspended for a year. As part of his suspended sentence order he was told to complete nine months and 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days. 

The defendant was told to pay £143.60 compensation. There was no order for costs or victim surcharge.

CATHERINE RAE, of Roberts Street, Chorley, Lancashire, admitted drink driving. 

The court heard on February 6 that the 43-year-old had been drink driving a Peugeot on the Worcestershire section of the M5 on January 15 this year. 

Rae had 95 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit being 35mcg. 

Rae was given a 12-month community order with a requirement to complete 40 hours of unpaid work. 

The defendant was banned from driving for a year but was offered the chance to complete a drink-drive awareness course which will reduce the ban length by 23 weeks if successfully completed. 

Rae was also told to pay £135 costs and £114 victim surcharge. 

CHAD MCCABE, of New Inn Lane, Shrawley,  near Worcester, admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin and possessing a class A drug for import with intent to evade prohibition/restriction. 

Magistrates heard the 44-year-old committed the offences between April 1, 2021 and September 11, 2021.

McCabe originally admitted the offences in August last year. 

The defendant, who is on unconditional bail, appeared at the court on February 6 when he was told to attend the next hearing of the case on February 14 also at Worcester Magistrates Court.
