Malvern’s MP has met with Worcestershire’s fire chief to discuss plans that could see the loss of eight fire engines.
Harriett Baldwin, the MP for West Worcestershire, and chief fire officer Jon Pryce talked about Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s resource review.
Mrs Baldwin said she wanted to “understand the proposals to protest West Worcestershire residents from fire and flood”.
“I will study these proposals carefully and reply to the consultation,” she added.
The Fire Brigades Union condemned the plans, saying they will put the public and firefighters at risk, but Mr Pryce has insisted they are not cuts and will make crews more resilient.
People have until March 4 to have their say at www.hwfire.org.uk/your-right-to-know/consultation.
