A 34-YEAR-OLD man has denied being the owner of a dangerously out-of-control XL pitbull.
Jason Watkins, of New Street, Upton-Upon-Severn, entered his not guilty plea during his appearance at Worcester Magistrates Court.
Watkins is accused of the offence of being the owner/person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control - no injury.
The alleged offences reads: "On June 18, 2023, were in control of a dog, namely an XL Type Pitbull dog, which was dangerously out of control in Upton Upton Severn Play Park."
During his appearance at the court on Tuesday, (January 9) Melanie Winterflood, prosecuting, said there needed to be some further investigation before the matter went to trial asking for an adjournment.
Richard Weatherill, chairman of the magistrates bench, told Watkins the case would be adjourned for a case management hearing on January 23.
Mark Anderson, defending Watkins, asked for the defendant to not need to attend the next hearing, which was granted.
But the chairman did explain if the matter progressed to trial Watkins would need to attend that.
The case was heard at the court on Tuesday, (January 9).
