AN injured man seriously hurt during an alleged attack remains in a critical condition after a man was arrested for attempted murder.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident outside the Beauchamp Arms in Worcester Road, Malvern on New Year's Eve but nobody has yet been charged.
Meanwhile, ambulance crews have revealed they gave the injured man advanced life support at the scene and as he was taken by ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "The man who was injured remains in a critical condition."
Police are investigating what they describe as a serious assault after they were called to reports of an incident outside the premises at 10.15pm.
Upon arrival, officers found a man, aged in his 60s, with life-threatening injuries.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A 52-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody as enquiries continue.
A blue forensics tent and police cordon were set up on the pavement outside the pub in the aftermath of the incident although it has since been removed.
A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "A passing by ambulance crew came across an incident on Worcester Road, Malvern 10.04pm on Sunday.
She added: "A further Critical Care Car from Midland Air Ambulance attended the scene.
"Upon arrival we found a man in a critical condition. Ambulance staff administered advanced life support to him which continued en route to hospital where he was conveyed for further treatment.”
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Garner, said: “I understand incidents of this nature can be alarming, but I would like to reassure the local community that there is no wider risk to the public.
“We currently have one man in custody and we are not looking anyone else in connection with this incident.
“Officers will be in the area for the next couple of days whilst we carry out enquiries to form part of our investigation.”
