Flood warnings remain in place for Worcestershire as the aftermath of Storm Gerrit continues to be felt in the county.
Official warnings from the Environment Agency, which mean that flooding is expected, are in place for the River Severn at Court Meadow, Kempsey and Callow End, Pitchcroft and South Worcester.
The agency says river levels are rising at its gauges in Diglis, Barbourne and at Kempsey Yacht Club.
Properties around Pitchcroft, South Quay, Quay Street, Diglis Avenue, Hood Street, Pitchcroft Lane, Waterworks Road and Newport are expected to be affected, with the river peaking at a predicted 4.7m to 5.1m at Barbourne this evening (Sunday, December 31).
The Severn should peak at Diglis on Monday morning, at about 4.4m to 4.6m.
The Environment Agency says flooding is also expected to affect Court Meadow Caravan Park, with river levels peaking at 6.5m to 6.8m in Kempsey on Monday.
“Further rainfall is forecast over the next few days, and we expect river levels to remain high,” the agency’s flood warning says.
“We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services and or Local Authorities.
“Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.”
Flood alerts, which mean flooding is possible, are in place for Bow and Piddle Brook, Lower Teme and the River Severn in Worcestershire.
Other places being warned of the possibility of flooding include Upton upon Severn, although parts of Hanley Road are already underwater.
Stourport, Holt Fleet, Severn Stoke and Bewdley are also on the list of places likely to be affected.
The Met Office says more rain is expected today, heavy in places.
