A LUCKY Malvern resident has won a hamper worth £1,500 - for shopping in the town.
The festive shop local campaign in Great Malvern concluded with a draw for a hamper of festive goodies and was won by Anne Knowles.
She said “I’m in shock - I can’t quite believe it. Winning the hamper was a really lovely surprise.”
The grand prize hamper was a treasure trove of gifts and vouchers donated by 22 Great Malvern independent businesses.
The prize draw for the Shop Great Malvern hamper was drawn by Jill Campbell from Solo Boutique and presented by Chris Marks from iapetus gallery.
Chris, one of the lead organisers, said: “The shop local campaign has been a fantastic success, with many of the participating traders reporting that it has brought many new customers through their doors.
“We had more than 2,000 entries into the draw, so it was definitely an attractive offer to encourage locals to support their town centre.
“Whilst there isn’t now a hamper to win, we hope Malvern residents continue to support the town as we go into the New Year.
“Not only does shopping in Great Malvern support your local economy, you’ll find the town has a really unique and varied offer you won’t find in many town centres.
“Great Malvern is a town we should all be proud of and supporting your local businesses ensures they will still be there for everyone in the years to come.”
