A derelict care home near Colwall is being transformed into luxury flats.
Eight apartments worth a total of more than £2 million are being created at Adelaide House, off Park Road.
Matt Nicol, managing director of agents Nicol & Co, said: “This property is full of character but has stood empty for nearly a decade after serving as a care home for many years.
“This restoration is long overdue and has been welcomed by the local community, keen to see this derelict property brought back into use.
“The new owners of these apartments will find them to be completed to a high standard.
Add to this the idyllic surroundings in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the bustling spa town of Greater Malvern just the other side of the hills, and you have a wonderful place to live.”
Mr Nicol said his company handled the original sale of the project to Court Property Developers earlier this year, and that the new apartments were expected to be completed by the early summer of 2024.
The Adelaide House redevelopment will see the creation of eight apartments of one or two bedrooms.
The property will have electrified entrance gates leading to off-road private parking and an established communal garden and outdoor space. Each home will be fitted with a video door intercom and entry system that can be accessed away from home.
Mr Nicol said: “This unique development will blend historical charm with modern luxury, with the latest home technology in a building around 200-years-old.
“These apartments are perfect for those seeking a downsize or a secure 'lock up and leave' home.
“The attractions of this development, on the slopes of Sugarloaf Hill in the Malvern Hills, make it highly likely these apartments will be snapped up well in advance of their proposed completion in May or June 2024. Those interested should contact us early in the New Year.”
