Sue Ryder has appealed to people to donate their unwanted Christmas gifts to help raise funds for its palliative care and bereavement support services.

Unwanted presents can be anything from ill-fitting jumpers to books already read or novelty items, which can all be donated at your nearest Sue Ryder charity shop.

The charity, which has stores in Malvern, Evesham and Ledbury, is also offering a free furniture collection service which can be booked via their website.

With just under 400 stores across the UK, funds raised in-store will go directly towards the charity's hospices, palliative care hubs and range of bereavement services.

Glynn Taylor, retail regional manager at Sue Ryder, said: "Christmas is a wonderful time for exchanging gifts but it’s safe to say most of us will receive items that end up thrown in the back of a cupboard.

"One person’s trash is another person’s treasure, so it’s definitely worth donating your well-meant, but as yet un-loved items.

"Not only are you cutting down on waste, you’ll also be helping support people dealing with grief or facing a terminal illness, all while decluttering your home as you prepare to kick start 2024."

Items can be donated at Sue Ryder shops or via www.sueryder.org/ReGift.
