A group that holds a popular weekend arts and cultural events across Malvern has paid tribute to writer Benjamin Zephaniah who died at the age of 65.
The dub poet, known for his works about refugees and healthy eating and who also appeared in hit BBC show Peaky Blinders as Jeremiah Jesus, had been diagnosed with a brain tumour shortly before his death. He sadly passed away on December 7.
Earlier this year, Zephaniah visited Malvern for the Festival of Ideas 2023.
He was joined by the likes of poet Michael Rosen, professor Alice Roberts and former First Minister of Wales Carwyn Jones.
On March 4, Zephaniah was in conversation with award-winning Black Country poet Liz Berry.
They discussed racism, Black Liberation, revolution and, of course, poetry.
In a Facebook post, the Festival of Ideas team, said: "We were very sad to hear of the death of Benjamin Zephaniah.
"It was a privilege to meet him and hear him speak at the Festival in March this year.
"His warmth and genuineness came across in the conversations he had with many of our attendees, and we're sure his legacy will live strong."
Mr Zephaniah posed for pictures with the team as he spoke to a packed-out crowd.
One spectator added: "I feel very privileged to have been there this year and hear his story."
